Dozens of volunteers in the community are now busy gathering items for the 33rd Annual Daniel B. Boyer YMCA Charity Dutch Auction to be held on Saturday, March 1, at Sunnybrook Ballroom, located at 50 Sunnybrook Road in Pottstown.

Doors will open at 5 p.m., with bidding on the Silent Auction items beginning at that time. This event is free and open to the community. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

Local businessmen Jim Davidheiser, Berks Country Advertising Coordinator, Reading Eagle Company and Kevin Zimmers, Owner, Zimmers Pets as well as several special surprise guest auctioneers, will exhibit their auctioneer talents beginning at 6 p.m. when the Live Auction comes to life.

Both the Silent and Live Auctions will include hundreds of wonderful items to bid on which include sports memorabilia, artwork, electronics, bed and breakfast visits, gift certificates for recreational activities, household items, YMCA memberships, and much more! To preview the ever-growing list of auction items, visit the website at www.philaymca.org.

Proceeds from the annual charity auction benefit the Y’s Annual Campaign which assists in providing financial assistance for YMCA memberships and services to local families and individuals in need. The Y operates with the belief that no one is turned away due to an inability to pay. Today, 1 in 4 families receive financial assistance through the Y.
