Berks County’s dairy Princess, Jessica Duncan, will have the honor of dropping the ceremonial puck at the February 28th Reading Royals game. Duncan will be representing the agricultural industry during the second annual Ag Appreciation Night.

‘Dairy farming is our number one industry,’ said Berks County’s agricultural coordinator Sheila Miller. ‘I am hoping everyone who likes ice hockey and likes to eat buys a ticket that will help support our young people who are the next generation of food producers in the county.’ Tickets cost $16 and can be purchased online at http://tickets.royalshockey.com/order/group/BARN or from the Office of Agricultural Coordinator, at the Ag Center, 610-898-5482.

Five dollars from each ticket sold will go to the Berks Agricultural Resource Network (B.A.R.N.), a non-profit organization. B.A.R.N. organizes the annual October Farm Tour and other educational events. Each year, B.A.R.N. holds a career fair for youth interested in exploring futures in the fields of agriculture, conservation, food science, and other related areas. It is held in March at the Ag Center.

The Reading Royals will be playing the South Carolina Stingrays at the Santander Arena beginning at 7:05 p.m. The arena address is 700 Penn Street, Reading, PA 19601. For more information, call Reading Royals Ticketing Manager Jake Saut at 610-898-7216 or Sheila Miller at 610-898-5482.
