On Saturday, April 12, several hundred people participated in the Abundant Life Church Easter Egg Hunt hosted by the Birdsboro-Union Fire Company.

Approximately 30 church members were on hand to make the event a success, from filling of 9,000 eggs with wrapped candy, grilling hot dogs, face painting, balloon making, and handing out prizes.

Fire Department volunteers were selling Reppert’s Easter Candy as a fundraiser with fire apparatus on display. Ken Long, treasurer of the fire company and a trustee of Abundant Life, said this is a very unique opportunity for the community and he expects the egg hunt to become an annual event.

‘This event exceed my expectations,’ said Pastor Devin Blankenbiller, who was very pleased on the turnout.

Abundant Life Church is located at 144 S. Walnut Street, Birdsboro, with 10 a.m. Sunday service.
