The Coventry Mall was alive with the sound of music, dance and twirling on Saturday, Feb. 22, for the Relay for Life of Pottstown’s Got Talent season 3 auditions. On Sunday contestants will compete against one another in the finale.
This year’s auditions were a culmination of some very special individuals using their talent to help fight cancer.
Thirty-one individuals from under 10 years to 60+ tried out and twelve acts made it. From Pottstown, there were six individuals that made it. Other areas represented ranged from Reading to Thorndale, Quakertown to N.Y. Studios on Main, a performance conservatory in East Greenville, brought seven acts and five made it through.
The acts each paid a fee, which benefits American Cancer Society, to audition before a panel of musical judges that included Dr. Myra Forest, Ira Watts (Season 1 winner), Lindsey Riegner (Judge Coordinator), Amber Ryberg and newest judge, Kendal Conrad. DJ Matt Elgonitis of PhazeOne Entertainment returned to spin the contestants CDs and will MC the Finale Show.
