The ‘Miracles From Him’ team, a segment of Relay For Life of Boyertown, is gearing up for a “car show and more” benefiting American Cancer Society. The event is set for Saturday, May 10, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Morningstar Fellowship grounds, 100 Limekiln Rd., Bechtelsville.

Show proceeds benefit American Cancer Society and will offer a variety of family oriented activities throughout the event. It’s more than just “chrome and fancy engines,” states Sherry Sperring event coordinator.

The mission statement is the “Power to make a difference,” the “Passion to keep fighting back” and the “Hope to find a cure.”

The event will kick off at noon with Presentation of Colors the National Anthem and a survivor recognition ceremony. Cancer survivors will be recognized as heroes fighting their individual battles and will receive a small gift.

Sabrina Palmero will be honored as this years’ childhood ambassador. Her grandparents Kim and Andrew Yonkovitch along with Sabrina will share her ongoing journey with childhood cancer. Kids will have ballots to vote on their favorite vehicle, Sabrina will then present a “Kids’ Choice Trophy” to the winning vehicle.

Spectators will be entertained with live music from Hat Trixx. Jimmy Johnson’s 2004 NASCAR race car will be available for pictures AND by popular demand the Batmobile is returning. Grandview modified race cars and drivers will be available also.

“Cruze In For A Cure” trophies will be awarded for first and second place in 17 categories, along with J&H Family Choice, Best of Show and Kids choice.

Food- don’t miss the opportunity for some great food as you stroll around, the Best French Fries around, hamburgers, hot dogs, funnel cakes, AND healthy Island Smoothies!

Chinese Auction prizes this year are spectacular, try your hand at winning that special prize.

“All of us have been affected by cancer in some way. Our hope is to bring to the forefront how Relay For Life benefits the American Cancer Society and inform the community of all the programs available through ACS,” says Sperring.
