New Hanover historian Robert Wood will be holding a book signing of his latest book, Swamp, New Hanover, Volume IV.

This is the fourth volume of the series that collects the best of the Historian columns found in The Community Connection. Volume IV holds over sixty of the most recent articles on local history, folk culture, and life style of the early settlers in this area. These stories seek to appeal to anyone with local roots as well as newcomers who want to learn more about the community. The book is now available exclusively at The Corner Shoppe.

The shop will be hosting a ‘Meet and Greet’ and book signing with the author on Saturday, May 31, from 1 to 3 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

All book sale proceeds benefit the New Hanover Township Historical Society.

The book signing is part of a free series of events and demonstrations taking place at the shop during the second annual spring Montgomery County Best Kept Secrets Tour. The Corner Shoppe is a stop on the tour, which runs from May 22 through June 7.

The Corner Shoppe is a gift, collectible and home decor shop housed in a restored 1850’s era Colonial Revival home and is celebrating its 20th year in business this year. The shop carries the three previous ‘Swamp, New Hanover’ books by Wood as well as numerous other books about local history and written by local authors. The Corner Shoppe is located at the intersections of Philadelphia Ave., Swamp Pike, Route 73 and Gilbertsvile Rd.
