The Twin Valley Community Education Foundation will hold the 2nd Annual Summer Picnic Beef and Beer at St. Benedict’s Picnic Grove in Plowville on June 20, from 6-10pm. Proceeds from this event help TVCEF support Twin Valley schools and students through annual grants for school programs and scholarships. This event is all you can eat and drink and features live classic rock and today’s pop rock music by Lucky Penguin. The night also includes picnic games and great raffle prizes. Come out and help make this event a success. Open to the public. Tickets can be purchased at www.tvcef.org or by calling 610-972-0771.

Every year TVCEF gives out over $10,000 in annual grants to Twin Valley schools as part of our annual grants program. In addition TVCEF holds community classes and trips every spring and fall. This year TVCEF was able to also support two artist in residence programs at Robeson and Honey Brook Elementary Centers.

In the 2013-2014 school year, TVCEF funded the following programs: Interactive Technology to Support Learning and Achievement at Honey Brook Elementary Center, Kindles for Kids at Twin Valley Elementary Center, I-pads for Eighth Graders at Twin Valley Middle School, Preparing Students for College and Beyond at Twin Valley High School, and With I-pads Near, World Language Students Go Far at Twin Valley High School. These programs improve the educational experience for Twin Valley students from the elementary to high school level. Grant applications are now being accepted for the 2014-2015 school year and winners will be announced this August.

TVCEF is a non-profit organization created by an independent board of community volunteers serving the TVSD area in Berks and Chester Counties. The mission of the Twin Valley Community Education Foundation is to serve as a link between business, the school district, and the community to provide educational, cultural, and recreational opportunities. TVCEF helps to support many unique opportunities for Twin Valley students through scholarships, cultural events, and teacher grants, as well as providing community programs such as evening adult classes and trips.
