Mike Paldino, American magician and performance artist, is coming back to town-and he’s ready to put on a show.

Known for his sleight-of-hand card tricks, Paldino also uses various elements and bizarre magic in his performances.

‘I have a different take on things,’ said Paldino in a previous interview with The Boyertown Area Times. ‘I incorporate a lot of personal stories and anecdotes into my shows, trying to steer away from typical magic show cliches. My character is me.’

The State Theatre will be welcoming the magician back onto the stage on Friday, June 13. The goal behind this show, according to Paldino, is to eliminate the use of many props.

‘I’m trying to create really great moments with as little as possible,’ he said, noting that there will be a fair amount of audience participation.

Paldino made headlines following his 2013 performance at The State for revealing contents of ‘The Box’ – contents of which accurately predicted newspaper headlines.

‘I think if people come to this show-it will be a different experience.’ He described the performance as truly being a ‘one man show’ this time around, something he says he has never done before.

While he wasn’t originally planning on returning to town so soon, he says he always looks forward to it.

‘Boyertown has a good local following and plenty of familiar faces,’ he said. ‘It’s one place that I come back to consistently.’

In reference to the upcoming show, Paldino says it’s ‘vastly different than last one,’ and features a great deal of new material-material of which is designed for mature audiences.

Paldino has been studying the history and tradition of the art of magic since age 7, since then his deep passion for the craft has continued to develop. He is a graduate of Seton Hall University. As a one-man-show, he has performed his poetry and short monologues live at various venues

Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the show will begin at 8 p.m.
