Boyertown Area Multi-Service will be holding its Fourth Annual Basket Raffle fundraiser on Friday, Sept. 5.
Currently, we are seeking individuals, families, businesses, organizations and other special groups who would be interested in putting together and donating one or more baskets. There will be two categories: Movie Themed Baskets and General Themed Baskets. Donated baskets should be at least $25 in value and a list of the contents should accompany each basket. (If building a basket isn’t your thing, please know that we will also be accepting special items equal in value to a basket.)
The deadline to have baskets and items at Multi-Service is Friday, Aug. 29. Basket donors are encouraged to let Multi-Service know in advance that they will be donating a basket. This advanced notice should include the Donor’s name, Contact name, phone # and e-mail address; the name of the Movie or General Theme chosen for the basket. This information can be left with the receptionist via phone at 610-367-6957 or dropped off in person. Our office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays.
This year’s Basket Raffle will be held in Binder Hall at the Gilbertsville Fire Company. There will be tables and chairs for everyone with the option to reserve a table at the time of advance ticket purchases. Gilbertsville Fire Company will have a cash bar and food available. In addition to the raffle proceeds, Multi-Service will receive 10 percent of the food sales as well as 100% of the proceeds from our bake sale table.
Doors open at 5 p.m. Have a meal or a snack with your friends and preview all the baskets. Place your raffle tickets in the containers next to the baskets you wish to win. Purchase additional raffle tickets until 7:20 p.m. The ticket numbering system has been made more efficient this year for easier tracking during the drawing. Special raffle tickets will be available for the large specialty items and a 50/50 cash drawing.
At 7:30 p.m., the excitement will culminate as all of the winning tickets, including the door prizes, will be drawn. The names of the Basket Donors will be read as the winners are announced. You must be present to win!!
Two awards (one for Movie Theme and one for General Theme) will be presented to the Basket Builders who meet the following three criteria: True to Movie or General Theme, Outstanding Presentation and Exceptional Creativity.
Save the date and plan to join in the fun. Admission tickets purchased in advance can be redeemed at the “Will Call Desk” for 15 basket raffle tickets. Admission tickets purchased at the door include 10 basket raffle tickets. Your admission ticket is the door prize ticket.
Your involvement as a basket builder or participation in our Basket Raffle (or both) is more than a creative project or an entertaining evening out. It is a wonderful way to support an agency that has been serving Boyertown and the surrounding communities for over 41 years. Boyertown Area Multi-Service has experienced a decrease in funding yet the need for services remains high. Thanks for helping us to help our neighbors!
