The 2014 Fall Festival of the Arts presents a gift to Reading and the greater Berks Community.
It is a six-week opportunity to share art, music, and drama.

Join us to meet and greet all the artists and crafters as they share their God-given talents with us. Featured fine artists Jane Runyeon and featured artisan Peggy Bobb join other talented members of Christ Episcopal Church and Trinity Lutheran Church offering a wide variety of artistic media. Hors d’oeuvres and wine will be served.
Poetry Out LoudFri., Sept. 5, 6:30 & 7:30 p.m.
Trinity Lutheran Church ChapelPoetry Out Loud is a national program in which high school students compete in the recitation of works by recited poets. In the past nine years Reading High School has had seven regional champions and two state champions who were also national finalists. The students you will hear have selected their own poems for recitation.

We are pleased to bring back the Fall Festival Chorus! The chorus includes church members, music teachers, community choir members and local musicians who celebrate music from around the world as they explore all parts of the musical spectrum. This year’s concert will be at times rhythmic, jazzy, excited, quiet and serene, with some a capella selections and others accompanied by percussion, strings and winds.

An event for the entire family. Bring your stories – personal or fictional – and join Ingrid Bohn of the Lehigh Valley Storytellers Guild She will tell her stories and help parents and children to tell their own in ways that are exciting, compelling and highly entertaining. Grammy Award-winning organist Paul Jacobs joined the faculty of The Julliard School in 2004. An extraordinarily expressive performer and intensely intelligent musician, his performances have transfixed audiences, colleagues and critics alike. It presents the story of a young girl as she learns to speak in her own words to resolve the struggle to find a balance between her life as an A.m.erican teenager and the pressures from her fa.m.ily to honor her Hispanic heritage. Trinity Lutheran ChurchJoin the choirs of Trinity Lutheran, Christ Episcopal, Atonement Lutheran, St. John’s Lutheran, Immanuel Lutheran and First United Church of Christ churches in hymns, readings and anthems on the theme of social justice. David Cherwien, Cantor at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Minneapolis and artistic director of the National Lutheran Choir, will lead the festival, which will include reflections written by his wife, Susan.
