The Leon Kirkhoff Reading Fair Scholarship Program is in honor and memory of Leon Kirkhoff who was a dedicated Reading Fair board member for many years. His involvement and guidance has assisted in making the Reading Fair what it is today. Since the scholarship’s inception in 2009, the committee has given out 12 scholarships to deserving youth that have modeled themselves after Leon Kirkhoff.
A fundraising dinner and celebrity auction will be held on March 28, at the Berks County Agricultural Center. Ticket admission includes a reception at 6:00 P.M. for an auction item preview, pulled pork meal with all the trimmings at 6:30 P.M., followed by a special celebrity auction. The celebrity auctioneers will be many familiar faces from the Berks County Community as well as the Berks County Commissioner Christian Leinbach.
Items to be auctioned include the award winning wool shawls from the 2015 Farm Show sheep to shawl contest, Penn State football tickets, hand crafted items, sports packages, bed and breakfast getaways and much, much more!
