An evening of Art under the Town Clock will be hosted by the Save Our Boyertown Town Clock Foundation this weekend. Local artists will have their work for preview and for sale to benefit the effort to restore the iconic town clock and tower at Church of the Good Shepherd, Boyertown.

Hours are Friday, March 20 from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, March 21 from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m.

Artists for the weekend will include oil/acrylic artists Julie Longacre, Angela Izzo, Jackie Pierson, and Alyssa Cross. Water colors artists joining them are Alisha Bolt, Arline Christ, and Joe Hoover. Joni Peters, who works with many mediums, will complete the show along with photographers Kaitlyn Clemmer and Charlie Emslie, and doodle artist Beth Glick. An additional bonus will be several artist proofs donated by David Larson.

The popular silent auction will be back, along with a raffle and door prizes. For the epicurean, Friday evening will feature complimentary wine tasting and an array of food prepared by local chefs. Saturday morning’s patrons can enjoy mimosas and pastries made by local bakers.

Silent auction items will include Julie Longacre prints, calendars, and notecards; two David Larson artist’s proofs; several antique timepieces, a collection of watch fobs, Longaberger baskets, Thirty-One bags and beautiful handmade fair trade items from around the world. We are also fortunate to offer several binders of vintage photographs of the area taken by a local photographer. Those who enjoy dining out will enjoy their chance at a gift certificate to one of many local restaurants.

The Save Our Boyertown Town Clock Foundation was formed in 2014 to raise funds and awareness for the repair and restoration of the historic town clock located at the Church of the Good Shepherd. The clock has been part of Boyertown’s history since 1920. After World War II the Borough of Boyertown assumed responsibility of the maintenance of the clock.

The Foundation is a Pennsylvania non-profit corporation. Proceeds from this show and sale will go directly toward the restoration of the town clock.

Art lovers can purchase tickets in advance at Frecon Family Farms, Studio B, and the Church of the Good Shepherd for $10. Tickets purchased on the day of the event are $15.
