In celebration that spring is here, the bears are coming out in downtown Boyertown. Come, bring the whole family and join the fun!

“After the harsh winter we just suffered through, everyone deserves a celebration. Coming Out of Hibernation is the perfect venue to come out and kick up your heels. What could be better than games, entertainment and the new railroad,” invites Allen Steffy, President of Building a Better Boyertown.

With the generous support of the Borough of Boyertown, Building a Better Boyertown (BBB) is hosting the Coming Out of Hibernation event on Saturday, April 18, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on East Philadelphia Avenue, between Washington and Chestnut Streets.

Join Building a Better Boyertown and the Promotions Committee for a day of family activities on East Philadelphia Avenue, rain or shine. Jump and tumble in the moon bounce obstacle course. Both young and old will savor tasty refreshments, Twisted Art Show sponsored by Philly Pretzel Factory, and bear sightings, including a bear raffle – so don’t miss the fun!

This year the Colebrookdale Railroad Preservation Trust (CRPT) will be conducting special rides during the event. For more information about tickets please check out their website at www.colebrookdalerailroad.com.

Ellixsons Tae Kwon Do Academy will be hosting an anti- bullying event starting at 2:30 p.m. as part of their Martial Arts Against Bullying program. The program’s mission is to teach awareness, avoidance and assertiveness to the participants.

Come cast your vote in the Chili Cook-off contest and pick your favorite tree photo sponsored by the Building a Better Boyertown Tree Committee, all located in The Other Farm Brewing Company. Choose the grand prize winner of the coveted Mayor of Chili Town award. Second and third place awards will also be given away. Be sure to check out the festivities!
