A full day of events will highlight the Memorial Day celebration in Mohnton this year, beginning with the 55th Annual Memorial Day Parade. The parade, which begins at 9 am at the Mohnton VFW Post on Wyomissing Avenue, will feature many walking groups, as well as the World Champion Reading Buccaneers and the Gov. Mifflin HIgh School Band. The parade will end at the Mohnsville Cemetery, which will be the site of a Memorial Service beginning at 10 a.m.
At noon, the Reading Buccaneers will be performing excepts from their 2015 Competition Show at Mohnton Memorial Park.
There will be a roast beef dinner served at the Mohnton VFW (225 W. Wyomissing Ave) from 1 – 5 pm. Tickets will be on sale at the VFW, the Parade Reviewing stand, and the Parade Announcer Stand. Also performing from 1-5 pm at the VFW will be the female trio, “The Belle Tones.”
Also the Mohnton Swimming Pool at Fairview and Cedar streets will be hosting a free swim “Open House” from noon – 7 pm.
