Bertie’s Inn is getting ready to host their 25th Annual Belt Sander Race on July 11 to support the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Doors open at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 11 – rain or shine.
Trophies will be awarded to the 1 – 4 place finishers, and to the team which raises the most money. The trick of the race is to stay in the lane and make it through the finish line while remaining on the belt sander.
Entertainment will be provided by “Dean House” from 10 a.m. to noon. The race begins at 12:30 p.m. and is expected to run until 2 p.m. “Three On The Tree” will take over the entertainment from 2 to 5 p.m.
Last year, Bertie’s Inn owners Ann and Peter Thomas told Southern Berks News “When we first bought [Bertie’s Inn], we knew a piece of the pie was going to go to a charity. We didn’t know which one. The MS Society was the first to knock on our door because they had an ugly bartender contest going on at the time, and it was a good fit.” The 2014 event raised more than $7,000 with 32 teams.
All proceeds from the race benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. For more information, contact <bertiesinn@gmail.com> or finish < http://www.bertiesinn.com> and select “Beltsander Race.”
