Tyler Dierolf, a young Boyertown resident who tragically died in June after a motorcycle accident, is being honored at a car show this Saturday hosted by Walnut Woods retirement community. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Tyler’s family.

Enrichment Coordinator Jessica Gumbert and the staff at Walnut Woods are organizing the event in memory of Tyler, who was well known by the Walnut Woods staff.

“Tyler is a grandson of one of our residents and he is also a cousin of one of our staff members,” said Ron Bailey, Co-Manager.

Gumbert said, “we always wanted to host a car show and we were planning to have one before Tyler passed away, and we thought it would be great if we could have this event for him and his family.”

“Car shows are a big thing in the area and Tyler was well known in the community, so we knew this would be the perfect fit,” said Bailey.

Wicked Effects Car Club of Boyertown will be showing off their cars with a mix of classic cars, muscle cars, trucks and motorcycles. A 50/50 will be held as well as a raffle with great items up for grabs such as a Samsung Galaxy tablet, and gift baskets being donated by Chestnut Knoll At Home. The Busy Bees of Walnut Woods, a crafting group who knit, sew and crochet for the community, are donating $100. Music will be provided by Matthew Krause, known as DJ Triple T Entertainment of Reading. Food items for sale will be hot dogs and walking tacos.

Bailey said, “there will be entertainment for all ages. It is for a good cause and we want people to know that we are here to help the community and most importantly, Tyler’s family.”

The event will be held in the Walnut Woods parking lot from 2 – 3 p.m, rain or shine. Parking will be available in the Walnut Woods parking lot, as well as across the street. This event is free to the public.
