Historic Brinton Lodge will open its doors to the public for the month of October with the Halloween production, “Horror in Free Love Valley.”

The event will run Fridays and Saturdays from Oct. 2 to Oct. 31 with three show times per night. Retaining the previous year’s name and theme, this year’s “Horror in Free Love Valley” is an all new theatrical experience produced by Brinton Lodge Community Theater.

“Horror in Free Love Valley” is based on the true story of a sex-driven religious cult that settled in the valley near Brinton Lodge in the 1840s. Their hedonistic lifestyle shocked the country community until culminating with the murder of a local woman named Hannah Shingle. This unique Halloween event retells this story with the haunted rooms and hallways of Brinton Lodge as the backdrop. The event is an immersive theatrical experience for the audience. As the audience moves through the house, the characters from the Free Love Valley legend are brought to life, as are their many twists and turns of fortune.

Show times are 7 p.m., 8 p.m. and 9 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays, Oct. 2 to Oct. 31. Tickets are $22 per person and can be purchased at <www.brintonlodge.com/hauntedhouse> or 610-572-7121. Due to adult themes, the event is open to people over the age of 18 only. Brinton Lodge is located at 1808 W. Schuylkill Rd. (Route 724) Douglassville.

Midnight Ghost HuntsFor those seeking a ghostly encounter of their own, late night Ghost Hunting Tours of Brinton Lodge will be available Saturdays in October from 10:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Guests will receive a tour of the second floor and time to explore on their own with EMF meters. Tickets are $20 per person and are available at http://www.brintonlodge.com/ghosttours.
