Saturday, Oct. 17Halloween & Oley High School Homecoming Parade: Registration starts at 12 p.m. at the Friedens Church on Main St. The parade begins at 1 p.m. All ages welcome. Dr. Jeffrey F. Zackon 5K: The 4th Annual Dr. Jeffrey F. Zackon 5K Memorial Run and Walk will take place. Registration will begin at 8 a.m.; the race will start at 9 a.m. The race begins and ends on the parking lot of Oley Valley High School, 17 Jefferson Street, Oley PA 19547 and proceeds throughout downtown Oley and the surrounding countryside. Thursday, Oct. 22Oley Valley Community Education Foundation: The annual OVCEF Evening Meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 P. M. in the School Board Meeting Room of the Oley Valley School District. The public is invited to attend this meeting.
Sunday, Nov. 1Oley Valley Country Classic 10M &5K Runs: Start/finish/registration at Oley Valley Youth League Field(s), Bertolet Mill Rd., Oley – East of Reading. Registration is from 7:30 until 8:50 am.. 10M starts at 9 a.m., 5K at 9:10 a.m. Fee: $25 if postmarked by Oct. 15, each prereg. receives a long sleeve shirt featuring the hex sign unique to 2011 (adult sizes only). After Oct 17, including day of race, $30 while shirts last, $25 with no shirt. Waiver must be signed. Runners under 18 that enter race day must bring a parent or legal guardian along to sign waiver. No refunds, no mailed shirts or mailed awards. Held rain or shine. Proceeds help fund the Oley Valley Youth League programs and health and fitness activities supported by the Pagoda Pacers.
