Boyertown is getting ready for its annual Earthfest, slated for Saturday, April 23, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The day will start at 7 a.m. with a flea market – the goal is to have 150 vendors in the park in honor of the 150th Anniversary of Boyertown. Ten foot spaces are still available for $10. Set up begins at 6 a.m. and goes until at least 12:00. You can keep your car at your location.
The borough’s annual shred event, sponsored by Gerhart, Hartman & Ritner, will once again be available from 10 – 12 p.m. Bring your items to be shredded safely and securely. We are so pleased to have GH&R sponsor this invaluable service to the community again this year at Earthfest.
There will be pony rides and fun nature and recycling activities. Your spring flowers and trees will be available for purchase along with many other activities and nature crafts to make. We invite you to come and welcome and pet the piglets. And as always, there will be plenty of good food available the entire time.
At 12:30 p.m., the winners of the BBB Photography Contest will be announced. Also, the Borough will be presented, for the 9th consecutive year, with the “Tree City USA Award”. The Tree Committee, a sub-committee of the Design Committee of the BBB has been instrumental in assisting the Borough with the annual recertification of this prestigious designation.
All children are invited to create a poster on “what Earth Day means to me”. All posters will be displayed at the event.
Also coming up – Boyertown is celebrating its Sesquicentennial Friday, May 20, and Saturday, May 21. The weekend celebration will include a time capsule opening, a parade and a block part. Fun Days is slated for June 2 through June 4.
