On Monday, Aug. 21, the community is invited to the Boyertown Community Library to celebrate the solar eclipse.

Youth Services Coordinator Lisa Rand will be hosting the solar eclipse celebration on Monday from 12-1 p.m. This will be the first event held in the library’s new building at 24 N. Reading Ave.

This event will include include simple activities for all ages to get a sense of what happens during an eclipse and there will information provided about how to view the eclipse safely.

The program is designed for all ages. To reserve a spot, call the library at 610-369-0496.

Following the program, attendees will be invited to outdoors to the location of their choice for viewing. According the library, the eclipse is expected to begin around 1:19 p.m. in Berks County.

Special eclipse safety glasses will be given out on a first-come, first-serve basis – one per person. The safety glasses are being provided by the STAR Library Education Library Network.
