Megan Janderchick, a Boyertown High grad, a sophomore on the Lackawanna College women’s soccer team, was named to the All-Region XIX Division 1 Soccer First team last week.

Janderchick completed an outstanding season in which she recorded 217 saves. That total was the second best in the NJCAA’s national DI stats. This was the second time that she was named to the Region’s First Team.Last year she garnered the same honor by making a NJCAA Division I best in saves (255).

In learning of her selection, Janderchick’scoach, Dan Berg, said ‘Based on her stats, you can’t argue with her selection, but there was just so much more than numbers. She was tough, playing every minute of every game Lackawanna played over the last two years. More importantly she was consistently cool in the net; no matter how rocky the situation was she kept a level head and made the big save.

‘As happy as I am for her, I’m disappointed for our program since I don’t know where I am going to find a keeper that will give me the performance and effort that MJ gave. I know she’s going to play somewhere next year, unfortunately it won’t be for me.’
