Thanksgiving brings post prom Turkey Trot success in Boyertown

Members of the Boyertown Area Senior High Post-Prom Committee organized a Turkey Trot 5K run and walk which was held on Thursday, Nov. 28. The race began and ended at the Boyertown Community Park.

“Now that there’s a trail at the park, we wanted to incorporate that,” said Charlene Wysocki, post-prom committee member and parent of a Boyertown senior.

According to Wysocki, the Turkey Trot which was a great success. There were 161 runners and walkers; 47 people signed up the morning of the race.

The awareness and funds raised by this race will benefit the Boyertown post-prom party.


Wysocki says the purpose of post prom is to keep students from having private parties with potential access to drugs and alcohol. The Boyertown post prom party begains at midnight, following prom, and will run until 5 a.m. at the high school.
