The Red Cross Berks County Chapter requests food items for veterans holiday baskets. Veterans who use the Veteran’s Transportation Services program to ride the Berks County van to the Lebanon VA hospital will receive a basket this holiday season.
The Red Cross counts on the generous donations of various businesses, schools, and individuals for the food items that will fill the baskets. Donors should bring items to the Berks
Chapter during the week of December 2, 2013 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
The program will take place from Dec. 2 through Dec. 13, at the Berks Chapter. Volunteers will make calls to the veterans and then sort, pack, and deliver the baskets.
The items needed for the food baskets include:
Boxes or Bags Instant Potatoes Boxes or Bags Stuffing
Boxes or Bags Rice Cans of Packs of Gravy or Gravy Mixes
Canned Vegetables: String Beans
Lima Beans Carrots Peas Cranberry Sauce
Apple Sauce Fruit Cocktail Fruit Juices/Ice Tea
Boxes of Jello Boxes of Pudding
Peanut Butter Crackers Cookies
Candy From The Red Cross Berks County Chapter.
