Hamburg driver charged in Richmond Township pedestrian hit & run

A Hamburg driver has been charged in an early morning Richmond Township pedestrian hit and run.

Morgan Boyer, Hamburg, was driving the silver car driving westbound on Park Road in the area of Wolfe Court that struck pedestrian Eddie Carrero, Reading,just before 2 a.m. on Nov. 17, according to a Fleetwood Borough Police Release.

“The pedestrian suffered cuts and abrasions and advised of general pain,” reported Fleetwood Borough Police Chief Steven Stinsky in a November release.

Carrero was transported by Fleetwood EMS for treatment and evaluation.


According to the police release, by researching the parts numbers from the passenger side mirror recovered at the scene, the vehicle involved was a 2002 to 2005 Audi A4. Investigation later determined Boyer was driving the car at the time of the crash.

A criminal complaint was filed on Dec. 2 alleging the following vehicle code violations: accidents involving death or personal injury, duty to give information and render aid, immediate notice of accident to police, careless driving, registration and certificate of title required.

Boyer turned himself in on Dec. 5 and is currently free on a $20,000 bond.
