On Tuesday, Oct. 10, a White or White/Hispanic male entered the Redner’s Quick Shoppe in Ruscombmanor Township. The pictured subject pointed a small black semi-automatic handgun at the clerk. The actor fled the location with $77. The suspect was wearing a black long sleeve fleece with grey stitching, blue jeans, brown work boots, clear protective glasses with a black frame and a blue ski mask over his head. It is believed the actor was dropped off and picked up by a small black sedan.

The Pennsylvania State Police of Reading, with the assistance of Northern Berks Regional Police, investigated the above armed robbery.

Through the investigation, which lasted several weeks, investigators learned that 26-year-old Anthony James Raimo, of Lessport, was employed at East Penn Manufacturing (Deka) and was issued work safety glasses as portrayed in the robbery suspect photograph.

Investigators carried out search warrants and analyzed the robbery surveillance footage to the known photographs of Raimo. Investigators recovered firearms, clothing, and a pair of Deka safety glasses from his home. Investigators also seized images of Raimo before and after the robbery and determined that his physical build and features were consistent to that of the masked gunman seen at the Redner’s Quick Shoppe. Investigators also seized Raimo’s bank records.

Anthony Raimo was taken into custody on Monday, Dec. 9, and was transported to Berks Central Booking for arraignment.
