The Bridge Church (TBC), 3561 Old 22, would like to extend an invitation to the following:

The Bridge Church Sunday Morning Worship Service times are at 9 a.m. & 11 a.m. All of our Bridge Street Kid’s Ministries meet downstairs where you will be able to check-in your child before each service begins. Bridge Street Kid’s Ministries range in ages from 0 thru 4th Grade.

On Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m., beginning on January 8th, we encourage you to come out to our Family Night, where there is something for everyone in your family. There is something for every age group, from infant to Boys and Girls programs on Wednesday evenings. Our children’s ministry clubs will take place downstairs for ages 0 – 4th Grade. We also have something for our 5th & 6th graders, called 56 Club. This is a wonderful transitional group before they hit Youth Group at Grades 7th-12th grade. Momentum Youth meets at 7 p.m. as well in the TBC Youth Room. This winter quarter, the adults for the first 4 Wednesdays are welcome to join TBC for a 40 Day Prayer Challenge. This prayer challenge will be taken from the book Draw the Circle, 40 Day Prayer Challenge by Mark Batterson. These nights will include powerful worship, and prayer time with one another.

Join Celebrate Recovery that meets on Monday Evenings at 7 p.m. Celebrate Recovery is a 12-step Recovery program where people gain freedom, healing, and accountability for life’s hurts, habits, and hang-ups. By applying the 8 Recovery Principles within the 12-step program, we open ourselves up to God’s grace so that we can break free. We also open the door to recovery by sharing our experiences and hopes with one another. Celebrate Recovery is open to men and women ages 18+. It’s not just for people struggling with substance abuse. ANDRE VAN ZYL

We are once again looking forward to our Times of Refreshing Services coming up Jan. 12 - 14 with Andre VanZyl. Brother Andre, born in the heart of South Africa, has an even greater heart for the things of God. His sensitivity to the Holy Spirit is encouraging and informative. The services will be held Sunday Morning at 9 a.m. & 11 a.m., along with Sunday through Tuesday Evenings at 7 p.m. Childcare, will be available for all services. Please register your children today! St. Michael’s Church

Sunday, Jan. 5, we worship at 10:15 a.m. We celebrate the Second Sunday of Christmas with Holy Communion with altar distribution. Come partake of the Lamb of God who takes away the Sin of the world, happy are those who are called to His supper. Young adults, including our college students, will lead our service reading lessons, greeting, and ushering. 2014 Offering envelopes are now available for pick up in the glass narthex.

Sunday School for ALL ages is 9 a.m. every Sunday. The Adult Classes study The End Times and Parenting. The Youth are studying “Made To Make A Difference.”

St. Michael’s Church, A Lutheran affiliated congregation, 529 St. Michaels Road, Tilden Twp., just West of Hamburg on Hex Highway, invites you to participate in activities and Sunday worship at 10:15 a.m.

Friedens Church

Please come and join us at our weekly services at Friedens Church, 128 Wolf Creek Road, Shartlesville. On Saturdays at 5 p.m. we have our Encounter Worship Service, a more intimate worship that features weekly opportunities for individual blessings and Holy Communion. (weather permitting, this is held at the outside sanctuary located behind the church, down the lane)

Our Sunday morning worship services are at 7:45 and 10:30 am. (Nursery services are provided at the late service). Sunday School begins at 9:15am.

Sunday Jan. 5, there will only be one service and that will be held at 9:30 a.m.

Friedens’ Friends – First Tuesday of each Month at 11:30 a.m.

Salem Belleman’s Church

On Sunday, Dec. 29, Salem Belleman’s Church, 3540 Belleman’s Church Road, Mohrsville, celebrated the First Sunday after Christmas at the regular Worship times of 7:45 and 10:15 a.m. The musician for the early service was Michele Dietrich while Nancy Rubright played for the second service. The scripture readings for the services were Isaiah 63:7-9 and Hebrews 2:10-18 which were read by Rebecca Gambler at the early service and by Terry Clay at the late service. Also, the Gospel reading was from Matthew 2:13-23. During the 10:15 a.m. service, Pastor Potteiger baptized Ashtyn Marie Cammauf, daughter of Trevor and Susann Cammauf.

St. Thomas Church

The altar flowers were presented in memory of Stanton Clay by his wife,Margie. Flowers were presented in memory of Elaine Hinnershitz by Russell and Beverly Hinnershitz. The fresh arrangements were presented in honor of the birthday of Grace Reber by her husband, Dick and in honor of the birthday of Amy Sterner by her family. The organ arrangement was presented in honor of the 11th birthday of Courtney Luckenbill by her family. The single red rose was presented in memory of Elsie Kraatz by Sonja and Sylvia. A musical, Christmas is Coming Sing for Joy!, was presented by the Worship and Celebration Choirs. Soloists were Tammy Gaston, Judy Guthier, Jan Keeney, Sara Jackson, Shirley Adams, Rosann Becker, Jill and Rob Klein, and Dorothea Miller. A Christmas Eve Family Candlelight service was held at 7:30 p.m. followed by a Communion service at 11 p.m.

Evangelical Lutheran Friedens Church

The worship assistants were Tina Argotl, Sheryl Manrodt, Carol Angelisanti, and Joyce and Paul Zerbe. The flowers were presented in honor of Irene Reed by the Choir. The Christmas Eve Worship and Communion assistants were Mike McCann, Roy Bubbenmoyer, Richard Hoffman and the Church Council.

Salem E.C. Church

This week at Salem Church: Our Coffee Fellowship was at 8:30 a.m., followed by our Worship Service at 9 a.m. & Sunday School at 10:30 a.m. The Twin Pines Camp Summer Staff shared music & testimonies from this past summer’s camping experience. Our greeters were Jordan & Amy Rice. Our nursery attendant was Gale Pyle, & our Junior Church leader was Dena Marie Bruno.

Upcoming Events: Our next Men’s Group Dinner/Bible Study will be Monday, Jan. 5 at 6:30 p.m. Women’s Bible Study meets every other Tuesday at 7 p.m. Wild Game Night is Jan. 11 at 6 p.m.

Salem United Methodist Church, Shoemakersville

Come join us at the corner of Sixth and Main Streets for our 9 a.m. worship service. The morning scripture is Matthew 2:1-12 and Sonja Rollman will share the Children’s Sermon.

At 10:30 a.m. there are classes for all ages. Rev. Parrish’s class will meet in the Parsonage. The Adult Class has one more week of study on Advent. Tues. evening at 6:30 p.m. is a study and the Wed. 10:30 a.m. group is on lesson #9 “The Good Samaritan.”

Saturday, Jan. 11 from 9-11 a.m. is a re-visit to our “Call to Action.” We will evaluate the goals we set for ourselves and plan how to reach more goals. All members are requested to attend this meeting.

The Small Group Youth will meet from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, Jan. 12. This group has a great time sharing Fun, Food, Faith and Fellowship.

Administrative Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 13 in Fellowship Hall.

The Mission Connexion Group will meet at Salem Berne UM on Monday, Jan. 20 at 6:30 p.m.

This is a good time of year to look for bargains for the Operation Christmas Child Shoe Boxes. Small toys and toiletry items are often on sale after the holidays.

The second sunday of every month is Good Neighbor Sunday. We bring non-perishable items for the Northern Berks Food Pantry and take a coin offering to help our Mission Team.

The Northwest District of Easter PA Conference of the United Methodist Church is holding “Tools for Ministry” on Saturday, Jan. 25 from 9 to 12:30 at First UMC in Schuylkill Haven. All church leaders are urged to attend. Please let Pastor Bill know by Jan. 14 that you will be attending and which two workshops you choose.

The Women’s Retreat at Pocono Camp and Conference Center is Feb. 21-23. We will visit “Cafe Chocolat” to learn more about God’s grace. Fliers are available in the back of the sanctuary. All women 16 and older invited.
