Kutztown girl, 12, struck by car while walking to school

The girl sustained apparent non-life threatening injuries, according to Kutztown Police.

At 7:32 a.m. on Jan. 23, Julie Kerr, 21, N.J., was driving south on the 400 block of Noble Street in Kutztown when her Suzuki Reno struck a 12-year-old girl walking to school, according to a Kutztown Police report.

Upon impact with the front of the vehicle, the girl hit the windshield and was carried about 80 feet and then fell when the vehicle came to a stop, according to the report.

Emergency personnel arrived to find the girl face down in the snow along the side of the road.


The girl was flown to Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest.

Police report that no charges are anticipated for the driver of the vehicle.
