Boyertown's Citizen of the Year to see changes

Boyertown’s annual event, Citizen of the Year, will see a change of hands this year.

Following careful consideration and discussion, The Boyertown Area Times has opted to no longer participate in the sponsorship of Boyertown’s Citizen of the Year.

This decision was made upon the evaluation of the staffing and funding for the event.

As a result, the Boyertown Rotary Club, the Boyertown Lions Club and Building a Better Boyertown will be assuming sponsorship in conjunction with former ‘Citizens of the Year.’

A thank you is extended to the Boyertown Jaycees and The Boyertown Area Times for the previous years of service and sponsorship.

This event, which will be celebrating its 60th year, seeks to recognize members of the community based on civic or business accomplishments. Members of the public have already begun submitting letters of nominations.

Nominees will be sought for: Citizen of the year, Educator of the year, Enforcement officer of the year, Fightfighter/E.M.S. person of the year and High school senior of the year.

A major awards banquet will be scheduled to honor these individuals. Check back with The Times for more details regarding Citizen of the Year.
