The 20 students that earned gold medals are qualified to compete at the SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference that will be held April 9 - 11 in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

The conferences bring together students from across Pennsylvania who are preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations.

During the competition, students compete hands-on in different trade, technical and leadership fields. Students often work against the clock and each other, proving their expertise in many occupational areas.

The contests are run with the help of industry, trade associations, and labor organizations with the test competencies set by industry. The events give students the opportunity to showcase their skills, develop confidence, and form a positive work attitude.
