The tax day deadline will be here before you know it, so to help get you finished ahead of time Rep. Marcy Toepel is hosting a free tax preparation session. It will be held March 11 at her district office located at 80 Gravel Pike, Unit A, in Red Hill from 12:30 – 5 p.m.
“I hope this event will help relieve the stress of tax season for those who attend, and maximize their refund,” Toepel said. “We will have professionals with a wealth of knowledge to help assist those who qualify for this free event.”
The free tax preparation is available for families or individuals whose annual household income is below $52,000. The event is part of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, sponsored by the IRS.
Participants must schedule an appointment in advance by calling 215-679-3082.
All participants should be prepared to bring a valid picture I.D., W-2 income forms, birth dates for everyone on your return, social security card or individual tax identification numbers for everyone on your return, bank routing and account numbers for direct deposit of your return and copies of last year’s federal and state returns. Also if it applies to you please bring current tax package if you’ve received one, interest and dividend statements, total paid for daycare provider, daycare provider’s address and tax identifying number, 8332 form or divorce decree if you are a non-custodial parent claiming a child, and spouses should come together if filing jointly.
