Wagner-Good VFW Post 216 located at the corner of 4th and State Street, Hamburg, is pleased to announce the awarding of a grant to the Our Town Foundation in the amount of $1500.00. The grant will be used by the foundation to replace the worn US flags that line the downtown and also to refurbish the Christmas wreaths that decorate the downtown.

The grant is being provided as part of the State small games of chance law which stipulates that 60% of the profits generated from gaming be distributed to charitable causes and non profits to assist them in providing services to the community.

‘The primary focus of this Post will always be to assist veterans and organizations that provide services to veterans,’ said Post Commander Dennis Carter. ‘However we will also focus on local organizations that provide services and benefit the local community. So it was fitting that we award our first grant to the Our Town Foundation as they have done so much to put Hamburg on the map. We hope to be able to provide one grant every month to organizations which have been approved by the officer’s and trustees of the post.’
