A.D. Moyer recognizes three employees for 40 years of service

Three employees of A.D. Moyer Lumber & Hardware, Inc. were recently honored at a company meeting for their 40 years of dedicated service to the organization.

Rick Youse, Jack Peterman and Brian Schlegel were all hired at the Gilbertsville yard in positions as truck loader, driver, and yard duty and each advanced up the ladder to management positions. Since their employment, other locations have been added. Rick is the store manager and Jack is the yard manager at the Pottstown Location. Brian is the store manager at the Gilbertsville location.

Each was awarded with a monetary gift as a small token of the appreciation for the dedicated service each man has provided.

Owners Scott Moyer and Terry Moyer thanked all of the employees for their years of dedicated service. A.D. Moyer’s more than 50 full and part-time employees currently average more than 20 years of service with the company.

A.D. Moyer Lumber & Hardware started in 1939 when Amandus D. Moyer purchased the Alpine Dips roller coaster at Sanatoga Park. He took it apart and sold the lumber, thus creating a lumber business that has evolved into one of the oldest privately-owned building materials businesses in the area. In 2014 the company is celebrating its 75th year in business with special events and promotions throughout the year.
