A surprise 90th Birthday Party was held at Janelle Restaurant in Bowers on Friday, March 14, for Edith Zentner, with 85 people in attendance. The party was given by her children Alton Zenter and daughter Jane Folk.

What do you buy for a 90-year-old woman? A scarf ? A pair of gloves? What about a Martin Guitar?

Her children and grandchildren presented Edith with a Martin Guitar, a gift Edith said she wanted for a very long time.

Edith opened her wallet to remove a guitar pick and the next 30 minutes everyone in attendance was treated to a concert, with Edith on her new guitar and her son Alton on the Mandolin.

Everyone in attendance enjoyed a wonderful evening. We were promised another concert at her 100th Birthday.

Edith at age 90 not only sings and plays the guitar, she was a waitress at Heckman’s Diner and has been keeping herself busy the last 45 years as an Avon lady.
