Brian McAllister from Purina Animal Nutrition spoke about raising chickens at a Chicken Chat at Mountain View Supply on Old Rt. 22 in Hamburg. He talked about chicken’s nutritional needs, diseases, best way of housing them and other pertinent information. Participating in the chat were folks just hoping to get their chicks this year and also those with decades of experience. In this photo McAllister shows his listeners how an egg is candled and what to look for. Mountain View also had a door prize give-way and an egg-hunt as part of the educational and promotional event. Their chicks will be in for Chick Days, from May 7 through May 10. Orders must be placed by April 4.
