The Shartlesville Lions Club welcomed Bernville Borough Police Department’s Chief Brian E. Thumm and his police partner in action, patrol and narcotics dog, Gus.

Chief Thumm shared the story of their relationship, their constant training, and how having Gus makes a big difference in the quickness and efficiency of their police work. The dog’s alertness and obedience to his human friend was most evident. The club’s next activity is preparing for and hosting the Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 19, at the Shartlesville Park, and accepting orders for the club’s chicken barbecue being held at the Shartlesville Park on Saturday, May 17.
