Hello Carol,Thank you for taking up the issue of Christianity and Hollywood in your recent On the Record Column.
ELANCO Release Time is a Christian outreach to students attending Blue Ball Elementary School. During Thursday’s hour long program covering grades 3 thru 6, and we trust we provide these students with a good foundation in knowing that they are loved and valued. The teachings of Jesus in the scriptures will give guidance as they grow to maturity.
Along these lines, I have mentioned to our Leadership Team that Hollywood has recently been offering more movies and media with a religious theme, and a few follow closely to scripture, like ‘Son of God’. ‘Noah’ has some folks discussing the media interpretation versus what we read in scripture.
At least, it opens discussion and conversation about biblical history, and that is a good thing. It’s noticeable that mainstream media is so insecure about mentioning anything having to do with religion, to be ‘politically correct’ is what our media feeds us.
Our goal at Release Time is to share the stories of the bible so they will have a strong foundation based on the life of Jesus. These are our future leaders – we pray they will be spiritually strong for the roles they will fill.

Blue Ball Elementary SchoolI had other ‘off the record’ remarks about the book Killing Jesus. Some people took offense at the author’s writing content.
I was hoping more people would have written in about this book that was #1 on the Best Seller list for weeks.
I want to remind everybody to come out and meet me and the editor, Lisa Mitchell, Saturday April 26, at The Village Library in Morgantown at Noon. There is now a drop box for suggestions and comments in the library.
