The Easter Bunny recently joined the bears in downtown Boyertown to celebrate the arrival of spring.

Last Saturday, with the support of the Borough of Boyertown, Building a Better Boyertown (BBB) hosted Coming Out of Hibernation along East Philadelphia Avenue between Washington and Chestnut Streets.

Minutes past noon, the Easter Bunny rolled into town along the Colebrookdale Railroad. Children gathered in excitement around the train tracks to catch a glimpse of the featured holiday guest—greetings and photo opportunities quickly followed.

“After the harsh winter we just suffered through, everyone deserves a celebration,” said Jake Lea, President of Building a Better Boyertown, in a recent BBB release. “What could be better than games, entertainment and the new railroad?”

The afternoon’s highlights included a moon bounce for children, the Colebrookdale Railroad Preservation Trust’s train debut, The Sunflower Truck Stop – Mobile Cafe and the Boyertown Farmers Market.

New this year will be the Colebrookdale Railroad Preservation Trust (CRPT) Train debut. The Easter Bunny arrived by train. Community members were invited to bring their cameras for the many photo opportunities.

The Building a Better Boyertown Tree Committee sponsored the Chili Cook-off contest which was held at The Other Farm Brewing Company

Event sponsors included Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles, The Sunflower Truck Café, Pottstown Memorial Medical Center, R.T. Brown & Company, and Rita’s Water Ice.
