A fatal motorcycle accident occurred on April 21 at 11:56 p.m. in the 7000 block of Bernville Rd., in Jefferson Twp.
Pennsylvania State Police report that Daniel Joseph Leffew, 44,, of Minersville, died at the scene of the accident as a result of his injuries. The passenger, Tracy Carter, 31, of Minersville, was flown to Reading Hospital and remains in serious condition. Both were wearing helmets.
Leffew was traveling north on Route 183 (Bernville Rd.) when he crossed over the double center line and traveled off the southbound side of the roadway. The 2012 Harley Davidson XL200C Sport traveled over an embankment and through trees and brush before coming to rest on the property in the 7000 block of Bernville Rd.
Leffew died at the scene due to his injuries and Carter was flown to Reading Hospital where she remains in serious condition.
Pennsylvania State Police Reading station investigated the fatal accident.
