More than 500 guests attended A.D. Moyer’s 30th annual Contractor Open House on May 1st hosted at the company’s Pottstown location on Armand Hammer Boulevard. Voted as the Tri-County area’s #1 Window Dealer for 11 consecutive years, #1 Home Improvement Store four consecutive years, and #1 Contractor Supply Dealer in 2013, A.D. Moyer is celebrating its 75th year of supplying lumber and building materials in southeastern Pennsylvania.

Each year the company raises a 40′ x 140′ big-top tent to host the exclusive invitation-only event. In recognition of the company’s 75th anniversary, more than $14,000 in gifts and prizes were awarded to the lucky attendees including $750 gift certificates to 10 Platinum prize winners. Everyone in attendance enjoyed a hot catered meal and went home with custom commemorative t-shirts, travel mugs, tote bags, flashlights and more.

‘We are honored to be celebrating our 75th year in business, having endured numerous economic highs and lows over the decades when other businesses weren’t so fortunate,’ said co-owner Terry Moyer. ‘Through it all, we have always maintained acute focus on the professional builders and remodelers who seek quality products at a fair price serviced to them by an expert staff that average 20-years experience each in the industry.

‘As we welcome a fourth generation of family members into the business, we are extremely grateful to those core customers – many of whom are third and fourth generation contractors – for their continued business and support. We certainly look forward to hosting this event each year to show our appreciation.’

Over 40 displaying vendors promoted windows and doors, tools and hardware, other building materials and industry-related services within the crowded tent. Contractors mingled throughout the four-hour affair socializing, gaining knowledge on the newest industry tools and supplies, and participating in hands-on demonstrations.

To feed the hungry mass, Wegman’s catering of Douglassville trucked in hundreds of pounds of perfectly-prepared hot roast beef marinated in gravy, country-fried chicken, baked beans, potato and macaroni salads, pickled red-beet eggs, corn fritters, ring bologna and cheese, frozen ice cream cups and more. Guests washed it all down with their cold beverage of choice supplied by Riverside Beverages of Pottstown.
