HONEY BROOK – A 51-year-old man is facing charges of homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence in connection with Wednesday’s fatal crash on Route 322, according to state police.

Police said Kenneth Haldeman Jr., of Honey Brook, was driving the 1989 Ford Ranger that collided head on with another vehicle around 10:50 a.m. Wednesday on Route 322 just west of Chestnut Tree Road. The driver of the second vehicle, 70-year-old Diana Weaver of West Chester, was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to state police, investigators found marijuana and heroin in Haldeman’s possession. Police said he was under the influence of a controlled substance at the time of the crash.

Police said Haldeman was arraigned on homicide by vehicle while DUI and related charges and taken to Chester County Prison after failing to post $250,000 cash bail.
