The Hamburg Area High School Life Skills Support Class held their class Prom on Tuesday, May 6. Each student was escorted by one of their regular class peers. They arrived at the front of the school in a limo and were met by a huge crowd of parents, family members, community members, teachers, school staff, students, etc. During their ‘grand march’ each couple was announced, entered through a balloon arch and walked down their ‘Candyland’ themed runway. The students enjoyed a wonderful full course meal, couple photos and an afternoon of dancing to music which was provided by a DJ. Many parents, staff members, teachers and classmates stopped in during the prom to show their support. The life skills support class teacher, Kristen Ludwig did an amazing job putting together such a special event for her students. She is thankful for all the support, help and donations from the district, volunteers, staff, HASD students, parents, community members and cafeteria staff. The classroom students volunteer in the community while learning ‘life & job skills.’ It is heartwarming to see how the Hamburg Community came together to give back and show their support for these amazing students!
