Mifflin Court, a Genesis HealthCare Senior Living Community in Shillington, received the ‘Silver Spoon Award’ for Best Soup at this year’s 12th Annual Souper Bowl held at the Crowne Plaza in Wyomissing on April 28.
Chef Jeff Moyer of Mifflin Court’s Senior Living Community made a tantalizing Irish Stout Cheddar Soup topped with Cheddar Popcorn which was up against amazing creations by some of the best restaurants and cafe’s in the area including: Cafe Sweet Street, Isaac’s Famous Grilled Sandwiches, Adelphia Seafood, Patty’s Soup Salad and Such, The Abraham Lincoln Hotel and more. There were a total of 29 participants.
‘Over the last several years, Genesis HealthCare has hired Chefs for all of its Pennsylvania facilities,’ notes Carole Duggan, Executive Director of Mifflin Court. ‘When Chef Moyer joined our team 3 years ago, we changed our entire philosophy on meal times. We now offer restaurant-style dining and made to order meals and our residents are thrilled with the changes. Congratulations to Chef Moyer on receiving the Silver Spoon Award.
