Mary Anne DerhamMary Anne Derham, 74 of the Hamburg Center, died Friday, July 11 in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Bern Township.
She was born in Philadelphia and was the daughter of the late Ferdinand J. and Dorothy M. (Marple) Derham.
She is survived by her Hamburg Center Family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 16 in the Hamburg Center Auditorium at 10 a.m. A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Spring Field.

Robert G. RollandRobert G. Rolland, 86 of Hamburg died in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest on July 6, 2014. He was the husband of Esther M. (Schaeffer) Rolland. Robert was born in West Reading on January 21, 1928 and was the son of the late Nelson H. and Alice P. (Teter) Rolland.
He was a 1946 graduate of Hamburg High School and was a WWII Army era veteran.
Robert owned the former Rolland’s Food Market from 1955 to 1976 in Hamburg and then worked for the Hamburg Center for 13 years in the food service division retiring in 1991.
Robert was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Hamburg.
Bob was a life member of Behler-Heim American Legion Post # 637 and a former Junior Vice Commander, life time member of the Hamburg Fish and Game Association and a former trustee. He was also a former member of the Lenhartsville Fish & Game Association and Kempton Gun Club and a member of A.F.S.C.M.E. and a former trustee.
He was also an avid deer hunter and hunted with his children on numerous occasions.
In addition to his wife Esther, Robert is survived by a son, Bruce N. Rolland, Hamburg, 2 daughters, Brenda A. Rolland, Reading and Barbara wife of Zane Barrall, Tilden Township, 2 grandsons, Westley and Zachary and a great granddaughter, Abigail.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Church and Pine Streets, Hamburg, PA. 19526.
A viewing was held on July 10 in the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc. Hamburg, PA. The funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Hamburg.

Jay H. ShearsJay H. Shears, 69, formerly of Strausstown, passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2014 in the Laurel Center, Tilden Twp. He was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Hobart and Jeannette (Dundore) Shears. He was a graduate of Penn-Bernville High School. Jay was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Surviving is a brother: Ted J. Shears, Sarasota, Florida; and a sister: Christina M. McNamara, Allentown; and their families.

Russell F. FlammerRussell F. Flammer, 79, of Yoder Heights, Tilden Twp., passed away Saturday, July 12, 2014 in his residence. He was the husband of Helen M. (Dunkel) Flammer, who died May 5, 1985.
Born in Albany Twp., he was the son of the late Adam W. and Edna I. (Bailey) Flammer. Russell worked as a molder for forty-six years for Fairmount Foundry, Hamburg, until retiring in 1996. He was a member of Union Fire Company, No.1 and beneficial association, Hamburg. Russell enjoyed going to public sales, gardening, and being with his family. He was an all-around handy man; and enjoyed watching the Phillies.
Russell is survived by one son: Randy L. Flammer, husband of Debra L. (Rentschler) Flammer, Tilden Twp.; two step-sons: Gary K. Bohr, and his wife Mary; and Brian W. Bohr, and his wife LuAnn; and three step-daughters: Patricia A. (Bohr), wife of Robert Tice; Judith C. (Bohr), wife of Roy Hiester; all of Pine Grove; and Suzanne Bowser, in Pennsylvania. He is also survived by his granddaughter: Janine Halena Flammer; thirteen step-grandchildren; nineteen step-great-grandchildren; and three step-great-great-grandchildren. Russell is also survived by his companion: Shirley (Adams) Flammer, Edenburg. He was predeceased by eight brothers and three sisters.

Clarence I. KerschnerClarence I. Kerschner, 95, of Perry Twp., died Friday, July 11, 2014 in Pinebrook Personal Care, Orwigsburg. He was predeceased by his wife Fern P. (Manmiller) Kerschner.
Born in Maidencreek Twp., he was the son of the late James and Stella (Sterner) Kerschner. Clarence was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He worked as a truck driver and welder for Empire Steel until his retirement. Clarence was a member of Zion’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perry Twp. He enjoyed hunting.
Clarence is survived by one daughter: Joann M. (Kerschner), widow of Clarence R. Wesner, Mohrsville; two grandsons: Craig Wesner, and his companion Jolyn Erickson; and Garry Wesner, and his wife Nancy; two great-grandchildren: Richard and Holly Wesner; two step-great-grandchildren: Jack and Jake Erickson; and his companion Ruth (Dreibelbis) Kerschner, Perry Twp. Also surviving are two brothers: Paul Kerschner, Blandon; and Mahlon Kerschner, Stonersville; and four sisters: Fern Stricker, Blandon; Ruth Schappell and Dorothy Heckman, both of Windsor Twp.; and Verna Moser, Hyde Park. He was predeceased by two brothers: Curtis Kerschner and Harvey Buck; and one sister; Edna Hoffert.

Robert E. AnthonyRobert E. Anthony, 93, of Tilden Twp., passed away Thursday, July 10, 2014 in his residence.
Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Earl H. and Pearl E. (Epler) Anthony. Robert was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the 25th Infantry Division. Robert was a Pearl Harbor survivor and a member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association. He was a charter member and former commander of R.W. Fritzinger V.F.W. Post #7215 of Walnutport. Robert was also a life member of Behler-Hein Post #637 American Legion, Hamburg. During the 1960’s, he was a member of the Pennsylvania National Guard. Robert was the youngest elected Justice of the Peace in Walnutport; and was also a former auditor there.
Robert is survived by two sons: Robert E. Anthony, Jr., and his wife Mariette, of Tilden Twp., and with whom he resided; and George T. Anthony, and his wife Pamela, Shoemakersville; four daughters: Anita P. Rowser, Fort Lauderdale, FL; Mary Ann Anthony-Kincaid, Bethlehem; Louise C. Morgan, Polk City, FL; and Ann L. Needles, and her husband Rob, Smithfield, Virginia; eleven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother: Earl W. ‘Billy’ Anthony, Florida. Robert was predeceased by a daughter: Susan Anthony, who died in 1948; and one sister: Irene M. Yurconic.

Jean D. FiskaldoJean D. Fiskaldo, 82, of Leesport, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 in ManorCare, Laureldale, where she was a patient since July 2. She was the wife of Anthony A. Fiskaldo, who died January 12, 1998.
Born in Muhlenberg Twp., she was the daughter of the late Earl Henry and Martha Edna (James) Dierolf. She was a graduate of Ontelaunee High School. Jean worked as a clerk and manager for Pensupreme on Kutztown Road in Laureldale for many years. She also worked part-time at Fairgrounds Market. Jean was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Shoemakersville Fire Company. Jean enjoyed crocheting, going to the casinos and playing bingo.
Jean is survived by one daughter: Diane M. (Fiskaldo), wife of Stephen W. Liptak, Jr., Birdsboro; two sons: Daniel E. Fiskaldo, and his wife Jeanne, Temple; and Michael A. Fiskaldo, companion of Shelly Acevedo, Temple; five grandchildren: Christopher A. Liptak; Kevin A. Liptak, and his wife Erin Davis; Melissa Fiskaldo; Dominic Fiskaldo, and his wife Victoria; and Marcus Fiskaldo; and two great-granddaughters: Aly and Cora.
