Members of the Berks County Dairy Royalty visited the County Commissioners’ Meeting on June 19 to celebrate dairy month and serve delicious ice cream to employees, reported Sheila Miller, Berks County’s Agricultural Coordinator.

‘Having the dairy ambassadors participate in the County Commissioners’ televised meeting has been an annual event for years,’ said Miller. ‘At the conclusion of the meeting, the Commissioners invited all county employees to enjoy a dish of ice cream served by dairy royalty during the lunch hour. It is always an enjoyable conclusion to the business of the morning.’

Berks County Dairy Princess Ashley Mohn, 20, of Womelsdorf, spoke about the benefits of saying ‘cheese’ for a great smile and a healthy diet. She was joined by Lil’ Miss Dairy Princess Alyssa Troutman, 5, who sang a song about milk for the Commissioners.

Also participating were Alternate Dairy Princess Megan Notestine and Dairy Ambassadors Ayla Blatt, Courtney Blimline, Mikayla Davis, Samantha Haag, Kristen Johns, Megan Krick, Morgan Krick, Taylor Pool and Lindsey Zimmerman.

Ice Cream Day is sponsored by the Employee Volunteer Council and paid for through monies generated at vending machines in the county buildings.
