St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 99 Church Street, Hamburg, would like to extend an invitation to anyone who would like to join us at our 9:30 a.m. summer services on Sundays. Come and join us.

On the Seventh Sunday after Pentecost, the altar flowers are presented to the glory of God in loving memory of Wilson A. Smith, on the anniversary of his entering God’s Eternal Kingdom, by daughter, Delores Frazer.

The Order of Services is sponsored in loving memory of husband, Paul R. Clapper on the anniversary of his birthday and in honor of Mark Clapper’s birthday, July 30th, by Elizabeth N. Clapper and family.

AA meets Thursday’s at 7 p.m. in the Junior room.

There will be no Family Worship Service during June, July, and August. Make a Joyful Noise Offering dates will be modified over the summer months. Bring your change for this special on Aug. 17.

This year our Church Picnic will be held at Tilden Township Pavilion, located behind the Tilden Township Municipal Building, on Sunday, Aug. 10. Please save this date.

While we are in transition of a pastor, we do have pastors available to do visitations.

Youth Group Pool Party: Sunday, Aug. 17 from 3-7 p.m. at Lydia Beck’s house. Celebrate the year and have some summer fun! Bring a swimming suit and towel. Picnic food will be served. Sign up on the bulletin board and indicate if you will need a ride. Carpooling will be coordinated. See Lydia for directions!

Needed: Sunday School Teachers – Can you offer one Sunday per month to serve the Lord by teaching our children fun Biblical lessons? Lessons involve crafts, games, food fun, science experiments or drama. Make a difference in the lives of our children! Contact Lydia Beck today to become a part of this exciting ministry.

Rally Day: Sunday, Sept. 7, 9 a.m. Theme is ‘All God’s Critters.’ Join us as we begin a new Sunday School year. A fun interactive day of animal games, crafts, music, food, and fun! Mark your calendar!

Salem Belleman’s ChurchBelleman’s annual Sunday School Picnic will be held on Aug. 2 when the refreshment stand opens at 3 p.m. There will be entertainment by the Belleman’s Orchestra and The Jalappa All Stars. All are welcome!

The Bridge Church Sunday Morning Worship Service times are at 9 a.m. & 11 a.m. All of our Bridge Street Kid’s Ministries meet downstairs where you will be able to check-in your child before each service begins. Bridge Street Kid’s Ministries range in ages from 0 thru 4th Grade.

On Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m., we have Momentum Youth in the TBC Youth Room for students entering 7th through 12th grade. We also host 56 Club for all students entering 5th-6th grade in the fall. Students in 5th through 12th grade can be dropped off and picked up in the youth room at our side entrance. Our adult connect classes and children’s programs will resume on Wednesday nights in September.

St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church

Evangelical Lutheran Friedens Church

Special music was provided by the Men’s Gospel Choir. Holy Communion will be celebrated on Aug. 3 followed by the Church Council picnic at 1 p.m.

St. Thomas ChurchSpecial music was provided by Stacy Lorah. The altar flowers were presented in memory of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Kline by the family and the organ arrangement was presented in memory of Lucille E. Berger by her family. The bulletin was sponsored in memory of Beatrice Sheidy. The acolyte was Jerry Walsh. A combined service in the sanctuary at 10 a.m. will be followed by a picnic in Beatrice Hall on Aug. 17. There will be no Sunday School.

This week at Salem Church: Our Coffee Fellowship was at 8:30 a.m., followed by our Worship Service at 9 a.m. Our Sunday School was at 10:30 a.m. Pastor Dave Long presented the message ‘Never Forget!’ based on Revelation 1:1-6. Our greeters were June Weiskircher & Pat Hummel. Our nursery attendant was Nicole Snyder, & our Junior Church leader was Kolleen Long.

Friedens Church, ShartlesvilleA blood drive is scheduled for Saturday Sept. 6 at Friedens Church in Shartlesville from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The drive is in Honor of Elijah Hoss, a 6th grade student at Hamburg Middle School, and a resident of Upper Bern Twp. who is diagnosed with Leukemia.

Donors need to be at least 17 years old and weigh minimum of 110 pounds. Call Marie Strause at 610-488-5072 to register.
