This Saturday a concert will be held to help change the life of a local girl.

Heaven’s Thunder of Thunder Outreach Ministries will be coming to Boyertown to help with medical expenses for Bella Johnson. Johnson is suffering from Stage-IV Lyme Disease.

Thunder For Bella will be held at The Historic State Theatre of Boyertown on Saturday, July 12.

Organizers are looking to fill the theater’s 200 seats. The proceeds are set to go towards a new all-terrain wheelchair in order to make Johnson more mobile.

Mark Malizzi of Thunder Outreach Ministries thinks that everyone will ‘have a blast’ at the concert.

‘It’s a local business giving back to the community,’ said Kevin Rhude, owner of the theater. ‘We’re providing entertainment, laughs; it’s about the community coming together.’

The goal is to raise $2,000-the approximate cost of the wheelchair.

‘It’s more than an event; it’s a blessing for someone,’ said Malizzi, hoping the event and the ministry will be a ‘positive component’ of the community.

Rhude says he’s looking to do more with Thunder Outreach and benefit concerts in general, describing the event as ‘up close and personal,’ with a meet and greet before the show begins. He also noted that while most people won’t ask for help-everyone is struggling.

‘We do concerts and shows, but to reach out and give back-helping people in our backyard-that’s the support that is needed,’ said Rhude. ‘It’s an honor to put these on.’
