Hamburg VFW Commander honored for achieving ‘All American Status’

The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States announced that the following Pennsylvania VFW Post Commanders are being honored for achieving ‘All American Status’ as a Post Commander.

Post 8951 York – Eugene Myers These individuals are among a select group of VFW Post Commanders. Only 197 VFW Post Commanders worldwide qualified as an ‘All-American Post Commander, so it’s a prestigious honor,’ National Commander William Thien said. ‘The criteria for this honor are based on outstanding achievements in membership growth and participation in other VFW programs that benefit veterans and their communities. These commanders and their VFW Posts showcase the reason why the VFW exists: to represent, serve and assist veterans of all ages and to have a positive influence on their local communities.’

The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S. is a nonprofit veterans’ service organization comprised of combat veterans and eligible military service members from the active, Guard and Reserve forces. Founded in 1899 and chartered by Congress in 1936, the VFW is the nation’s largest organization of war veterans and its oldest major veterans’ organization.
