Regardless of the 30-minute rule, you can now take a swim between your meal and dessert at a newly opened restaurant located in the Flying Hills Village Center.

With his second restaurant venture in the last two years, Nick Harris, Kenhorst, aims to offer a wholesome environment with Divots Bar & Grill to align a family friendly atmosphere with the working mans budget. Divots Bar and Grill officially opened on June 23.

Divots is open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. depending on bar demand, we will keep it open as long as we need to up until midnight that is. Nothing good happens past midnight, Harris, owner of the restaurant, said of the locations business hours.

Much like California Bar and Grill, Rt. 724 near Shillington, which recently celebrated their first year anniversary July 15, Harris wants to attract families to their dining out experience. (Harris is one of four partners of California Bar and Grill.) With an inviting pool view from the dining area, customers have the option of enjoying an afternoon sunbathing while still enjoying food and drinks from Divots with service straight to the pool.

Enjoying the Flying Hills community pool for a small fee, you and your family can spend the day by the water -- access to the pool will be cheaper than your pool side martini.

Since taking over the space that was previously Bistro On The Green, Harris and management have expanded the bars seats and beer selections to include 13 beers on tap. The bar previously sat eight people but now can hold nearly twenty guests. We are trying to open up and offer our services...people want to be outside in the summertime, Harris said. They have brought costs down from the previous restaurant, added televisions inside, and while patrons are seated for a meal inside or out on the deck, the view of golf course greens holes five and ten are in clear sights.

Were more of a restaurant than a bar, Harris said. Plans to construct a larger deck for next summer are in the works.

Divots will host a Deck Party Friday, Aug. 1 from 5 to 7 p.m. complete with a radio station and beer specials.

The location is great to accommodate banquets and large parties. For reservations or further inquires, call Divots at 610-777-6575.
