On a beautiful Friday evening in June, the Schuylkill Valley School District proudly graduated 145 young men and women. The graduation ceremony provided our school community a quiet moment to reflect on the lives of our students…to celebrate their accomplishments…and to wish them our very best as they move forward. And now, with the summer drawing to a quick close, we look forward to welcoming our students back to school.

Over the summer we have been working diligently to prepare for our opening day. We have been working to:

-Roll out our new district website platform

-Ready new technology devices for students

o 190 iPad minis and a new desktop lab at the elementary school

o two new mobile laptop labs and a new stationary laptop lab at the middle school

o four new mobile laptop labs at the high school

-Hire new support staff and teachers

-Prepare our facilities and grounds for upcoming fall sports season

The start of school renews our promise to the children and families of our community. It is with the same sense of pride and anticipation of our June graduation ceremony that we open the new school year. Here’s to a wonderful August opening of school.
