On Aug. 14, 2014 at approximately 9:30 a.m., detectives from the District Attorney’s Child Abuse Unit, a Lower Heidelberg Detective (cross-designated as a Berks County Detective) and members of the Berks County Sheriff’s Warrant Squad arrested Sean M. Fager at his residence in the 1300 block of Perkiomen Ave., Reading, Berks Co., PA. The arrest warrant was issued by Magisterial District Judge Michael J. Leonardziak.

In March of 2014, detectives initiated an investigation in conjunction with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Through the investigation, detectives determined that Sean Michael Fager possessed and disseminated child pornography via the internet.

In May of 2014, detectives served a search warrant at Fager’s home. As a result, computers and media storage devices were seized. Subsequently, a forensic examination was conducted and hundreds of digital images of suspected child pornography were seized. The majority of these images were of children ranging from 1 to 5 years being sexually abused by unidentified adult males.

Additionally, detectives obtained another search warrant for Fager’s home and served that search warrant after Fager was taken into custody this morning (August 14, 2014). Detectives seized additional items that were depicted in the photographs that were recovered from the May 2014 search warrant.

This is an ongoing investigation. We are attempting to identify the victims depicted in the photographs.

At the time of this release, Fager is awaiting his preliminary arraignment at Berks County Sheriff’s Central Processing.

*The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
